I’ve been a counselor in the Westminster/Arvada area since 1998. I provide Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy for adults experiencing personal and emotional difficulties, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, women’s issues, and more. My practice has a strong focus in working to help people reduce their anxiety and depression by use of mindfulness based cognitive therapy, which trains the brain to challenge faulty thinking styles and focus on staying in the present moment instead of dwelling in the past, or fretting about the future. I enjoy working with clients who are contemplative and philosophical — who wrestle with concerns such as “the meaning and/or purpose of life”, and spirituality — including atheism, agnosticism, and secular questioning. Finding our way through these complicated issues in life is not always easy, but psychotherapy can help in locating the teacher within who knows how to find the way.
