Brandy Kane, MSW, RCSW, PhD Student

My ceremonial name is Thunder Eagle Woman. I am Xaxli’p from St’at’imc territory in Lillooet BC.
With over 15 years experience I have supported people on their journey to healing and wellness. I am a registered Clinical Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Worker’s #11869. Additionally, I am a PhD student in Indigenous Studies at Trent University. I received my Masters of Social Work degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Aboriginal Field of Study. I also hold certificates in Indigenous Focus Oriented Therapy and Complex Trauma Counselling and Psychotherapy, Substance Misuse Counselling, Family & Community Counselling, Trauma Counselling, and Medicine Wheel Facilitation Training.

We believe in Indigenous ways of healing through culture, ceremony, body centred, and land based approaches. Within an empowering and wholistic framework we are able to work in a culturally appropriate manner. By incorporating the medicine wheel, we are able to look at the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual quadrants of your life. Using wholistic practices through traditional medicines and ceremonies, we are healing from traumatic events; people are finding their voices and standing strong in their power.
