The most significant obstacle to peace and joy is attachment…attachment to relationships, objects, feelings, preferences and expectations about how things need to be, etc. As the world presents very real challenges, we are tasked with doing the inner work that frees us from hanging on too tightly to our disappointments, our successes, and our fears. We can’t avoid difficulties, but we can work on how relate to the adversities in our lives, such that we can reduce our suffering and increase our sense of peace and joy.

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in both North Carolina and Texas and have extensive experience providing psychotherapy in private practice. I work deeply with clients at the level of self identity, which involves dealing with deep attachments that lead to symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, grief, etc., and interfere with personal growth and development. I also specialize in couples therapy and help individuals with diffusing conflict and building secure relationships.

In therapy, I listen very carefully and non-judgmentally for hidden patterns of behavior, help you better understand yourself and your relationships, and offer you meaningful suggestions for change.
