Dr. Amanda Rickard, PsyD, NCSP

The most important aspect of therapy is the working relationship between the client and therapist. Through being genuine and building trust, I work to create a safe space that allows my clients to feel comfortable being open and honest. I meet my clients where they are and spend time understanding who they are and what they need. As a clinical psychologist, I work to individualize treatment based on who my client is, as well as incorporating research-based techniques to help them reach their goals. I enjoy working with adults in individual and couples therapy.

Although I am a generalist, I have pursued specialized training in the areas of gender and sexual minorities (LGBTQ), women’s issues, and trauma. I enjoy working with clients across all cultural identities and diverse backgrounds. Social justice is a personal and professional value of mine.

Additionally, I enjoy working with clients through Thera-LINK. Research indicates online sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy sessions. Moreover, health insurance usually covers online sessions.
