Patrick Martin L.C.S.W.

Therapy is often viewed as a one-sided process, something reserved only for those who are severely mentally ill, or just those who can’t deal with things on their own. As someone who has worked with a wide-range of clientele, I can tell you this is far from the truth. Therapy is very interactive, real and unpretentious. Everyone needs support and wants to be understood. I provide a safe place to teach you to challenge your own assumptions, identify meaningful goals in line with your values, methods for overcoming obstacles and techniques to increase your inter-personal effectiveness. For me, therapy is less about talking about the things you are unhappy with, and more about figuring out what it is that you want and how to acquire it from yourself and your environment.

Due to my wide range of experience, I am comfortable working with people in all circumstances. I do however, feel that I work best with those in transition, struggling to adapt.

Life is too short to continue to forfeit the hard earned land of your of life. Too much opportunity and quality of life life is surrendered to mental health and relationship issues. I want you to learn better ways to cope and thrive and manage life’s challenges head-on as they come, versus avoid them, and to find meaningful activities and a sense of purpose in all of your life domains.

During 10+ years as a therapist, I have assisted individuals, couples and families to find healing and understanding versus blame and judgement in difficult times. Get to know me and my style of approach better by reading my blogs at this site (https://thementalhealthtoolbox.com/blog).
