Free Spirit Counseling and Wellness, LLC

Alan Cyr is a Licensed Mental Health Counseling in Florida. He graduated Magna cum Laude with his B.A. in Philosophy and minor in Theology, then continued his theological studies at the graduate level. He then shifted his focus to practical application and graduated with his M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Couples and Family Counseling. He integrates information, resources, and practices from his own spiritual journey, experiences, and studies along with counseling psychology science to offer a unique approach to self-growth, healing, and wellness. He has worked extensively with individuals facing addiction and substance dependence, as well as with children and adults using art therapy. Alan’s passion in life involves helping people, couples, and families lead happier, healthier lives.

Alan takes an individualized approach to counseling, incorporating a holistic approach to healing and wellness. This may include include any or all of the following: work around your spiritual beliefs and values, mental-health informed nutrition, as well as making positive environmental, behavioral, and cognitive changes. Alan often works from a Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy theoretical framework, while drawing from other evidenced-based interventions as well as ancient spiritual practices from around the world which complement each client’s individual beliefs. Much of this work involves identifying and challenging maladaptive beliefs and self-defeating behaviors.

Part of your counseling work may also focus on developing an individualized health and wellness routine, as well as how to overcome any challenges and obstacles you may face as you incorporate it into your life. Whether you are someone looking to reach your full potential, have hit a wall with personal growth, or are struggling just to get through each day, Alan would be honored to accompany and partner with you in achieving your life goals. Please feel free to reach out for a free, no obligation phone consultation.
